From the Principal’s Desk – 19 April 2024
Dear Parents,
Greetings from the Principal’s desk once again! With Term 2 now officially in full swing, I’m delighted to share the latest updates and exciting happenings from our vibrant campus.
Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who attended last week’s parent meetings on Friday afternoon. Your presence and support truly make our community special, and it was wonderful to see so many of you there. Thank you for taking the time to connect with us.
I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve welcomed a new member to our school family this week. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Mr. Maposa! Mr. Maposa is a diligent biochemistry graduate, with an impressive educational background from the University of Pretoria. Graduating with his bachelor’s, honours, and master’s degree, all in Biochemistry, Mr. Maposa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. With ten years of experience teaching chemistry at both the university level and with the Cambridge International Education curriculum, Mr. Maposa’s passion for scientific research and teaching is evident. We’re already seeing great chemistry between him and our students, and we’re excited for the impact he’ll make in our classrooms.
On the student front, our Checkpoint 3 students had an absolute blast playing Padel and soaking up the sunshine this week. And guess what? We’re gearing up for another thrilling adventure this coming weekend with a mountain biking expedition. If your family enjoys outdoor cycling fun, we’d love to have you join us! If you are interested please reach out by either contacting the office or popping me an email.
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for a week packed with excitement! We’ll kick things off with Book Day on Wednesday, where we’ll dive into the enchanting world of literature with a lively dress-up day. Let’s spark some imagination and have a blast bringing our favourite book characters to life! How about starting the fun early at home this weekend by chatting about which character your child can’t wait to portray?
Then, get ready to say cheese because Thursday is Photo Day, and it’s a must for all students! Let’s make sure they’re looking their absolute best, whether it’s with a fresh haircut or a visit to the dentist for a sparkling and dazzling smile. Let’s get ready to capture those smiles!
But that’s not all—this Friday marks our first outreach trip of the year! It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to make a positive impact in the community while having a great time. Be sure to check out the details later next week. For now we humbly request families get involved by donating the items listed on the flyer.
Warm Regards,
Ivan Knoetze
Principal
