From the Principal’s Desk – 20 March

Dear TBA Family,

As we reach the end of Term 1, I am filled with gratitude for the wonderful time we’ve had here at The British Academy. It has been an incredible journey, and I am privileged to have shared it with each and every one of you.

I am thrilled to report that our students have had a fantastic and eventful term. Last week, we introduced Padel tennis as part of our sports program, thanks to our successful partnership with Africa Padel Brooklyn. The students thoroughly enjoyed it, and we look forward to continuing our Padel adventures in Term 2. Additionally, our first TBA MTB ride was a great success, and we’re excited to continue this activity as well.

Our recent Entrepreneurs Day was a highlight of the term, showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our students. From handmade products to delicious food and desserts, the day was filled with excitement. The students also participated in fun activities such as gladiator-like challenges and karaoke, with the dunk tank proving to be a favourite among all. It was an absolute blast for everyone involved!

Reflecting on Term 1, I am immensely proud of our students and their achievements. Their dedication and enthusiasm for learning are truly commendable, and I am excited to see what they will accomplish in Term 2.

I would also like to take this opportunity to bid farewell and express our gratitude to Mr. Joubert for his contributions to TBA. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Mrs. Prosch-Becker will also be leaving us in Term 2, and we extend our best wishes to her as well. While they will be missed, we are confident that our learning community will continue to thrive.

On a personal note, Term 1 has been an amazing beginning for me, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our students and parents. The sense of family and community here at TBA is truly heart-warming, and I am honoured to be a part of it. Term 2 is shaping up to be another unforgettable chapter in our TBA story. Looking ahead we have an exciting line-up of events and activities planned including International Day, Book Week, School Photo Day, and several thrilling school trips. Please mark your calendars for Parents evening on the 11th of April.

As we head into the break, I wish you all a fantastic Easter and a wonderful time spent with loved ones. I eagerly await the start of Term 2 and look forward to seeing everyone back on April 2nd.
